Nine community members were named to the new Gallatin Valley Urban Transportation District board Wednesday, which will now govern the Streamline bus and Galavan paratransit services.
This spring, voters approved the creation of the new transportation district, to allow Streamline to continue operating, as Bozeman’s population growth affects the bus systems’ federal funding.
The transition of governing responsibility from the Human Resources Development Council, or HRDC, Board of Directors — which currently oversees Streamline and Galavan — to the new board of directors is expected to take about two years, according to a press release, but both services will continue operating as normal in the interim.
