Doors to Transit

In August 2020, Streamline was awarded with a quick action community challenge grant from AARP. The grant money will fund a temporary demonstration that shows the new Streamline stops/routes using door blanks. This pop up project will take place in November 2020. The new routes will be implemented in the fall of 2021.

Why Doors?

The doors will be used as a symbol for opening new opportunities through public transportation. We will specifically emphasize the opportunity transit creates for older adults, those with disabilities, middle and high school aged students, college students, low income individuals, and everyone else in the community to have greater personal, social, and economic independence.

Timeline for Project

The doors will be placed in the community starting on Thursday, November 5th and will stay up through Thursday, November 12th. Saturday, November 7th will be our Doors to Transit Community Challenge Day where community members will be encouraged to find at least SIX doors in the community and take a picture with them. Those who participate in the challenge and submit all six pictures will be entered into a raffle for a $100 gift card to a local store. We have FIFTEEN $100 gift cards available so everyone will have a good chance to win!
